The annual summer Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair will be held from July 14th through July 23rd, 2017. This event highlights the culture and history of the Smoky Mountains through music, crafts, and local artwork. The fair is being held in the Gatlinburg Convention Center. The convention center is easy to find in the center of town at traffic light #8. There are several parking lots around the center but the entire town is walkable so you can park nearly anywhere and walk to the Gatlinburg Convention Center. The event opens daily at 10:00 A.M. and closes at 6:00 P.M. every day but Sunday. The hours on Sunday are from 10:00 – 5:00. The price for adult admission to the fair is $7 and children under the age of 12 are free.
During the Craftsman’s Fair, there will be live music that showcases the unique sound of the Smoky Mountains. Visitors can listen to traditional bluegrass, gospel, and even some rock and pop music. All musical shows are family-friendly and offer a great way to introduce the kids to a new genre of music. The music shows are held at 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM daily, with a 12 PM and 2 PM show on Sunday. There will also be a kid’s corner where children can try their hand at making a craft to take home.
Visitors to the Craftsman’s Fair can see over 180 artisans from the area exhibiting their talent. They will be on hand to answer questions about their crafts and to offer information about working and living in the Gatlinburg community. Many unique items will be offered for sale at the fair.
