River Islands Golf Club
The River Islands Golf Club was named one of Golf Digest’s Top Ten Tennessee Courses, and it has been one of the most popular golf courses in the Smoky Mountain area since it opened in 1991. The course is well-known for its Zoysia fairways, and it lies along the edge of the French Broad River. The course is considered challenging and plays 7,100 yards from the back tees. For those who want less of a challenge, the course can be played at 6,300 yards from the regular tees. Bent Creek Golf Course
Bent Creek Golf Course was designed by three-time Masters and British Open Championship Winner Gary Player. Bent Creek is a 72-par golf course that has been a premier course since it opened in 1972. The front nine of the golf course is in the valley, so it’s relatively flat. The back nine gives golfers more of a challenging mountain course. According to Southern Living Travel Guide, Bent Creek Golf Course was rated one of the “Top Fifty Golf Courses in the South.” The course is challenging and forces you to hit every club in your bag – especially the back nine.
