Fall is one of the best times to visit the Great Smoky Mountains. The air is turning cooler, the leaves are starting to change into a beautiful array of colors, and there are many events throughout the fall season for the entire family to enjoy. One of these events is the annual Taste of Autumn which is being held on September 14, 2017. This is the 20th celebration of some of the wonderful food and entertainment options offered by businesses in the Gatlinburg area.

When and Where
Taste-of-Autumn-650x434The event is being held on Thursday, September 14th, from 5 PM through 8 PM. The location of the event is the Gatlinburg Convention Center which can be found at 234 Historic Nature Trail in Gatlinburg. Proceeds from the event go towards The United Way of Sevier County. Over the years this event has continued to grow and has been able to provide local charities with much needed funds, while giving locals and visitors and fun way to enjoy a fall evening in the mountains. Tickets for the event are $30 per person and children under 5 are admitted free. There are also special rates for reserved tables of 10 people for $300. For those who want to meet the talent and have a special evening on the town, a corporate VIP package is available for 10 guests at $500. This package allows guests to chat with the musicians and comedian, while having a special reserved table with wine provided.

Great Food
The Taste of Autumn will feature food from some of the area’s favorite restaurants. This is an excellent opportunity for new-comers to the Smokies to get a sample of mountain food. Some of the food vendors will include: Vista Grill, Dixie Stampede, Wine a Little, The Melting Pot, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and Dick’s Last Resort. A local favorite, The Fox & Parrot Tavern, will also be on hand providing a taste of what they have to offer. For dessert, Ben & Jerry’s will be on-site with some of their famous ice cream flavors. Guests of the event can expect everything from Tennessee BBQ will all the sides to burgers and seafood. There will also be plenty of kid-friendly choices and Coca-Cola will be providing refreshments.

Entertainment
The event will begin with bluegrass music from Cannon Creek. These local favorites play everything from traditional bluegrass to contemporary style music. The highlight of the evening will be comedy from the well-known comedian Jimmy Travis. The entertainment was chosen to be fun for all ages. The kids may even want to get up to dance to some great mountain music.

Anyone in the Gatlinburg area on September 14th, 2017, should spend the evening at the Taste of Autumn event at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. This event has something for everyone with a wide variety of food and drink options, along with ice cream for dessert. The entire family will appreciate the mountain music from Cannon Creek, along with hilarious stand-up comedy with Jimmy Travis.
